Upscaling of the extraction of functional plant proteins

One of the projects performed via GPEC is the evaluation of the extraction of functional plant proteins from new backgrounds. This project was done by Cosun in the context of GPEC and was recently finished. With this project a first evaluation has been obtained of the issues around upscaling of the extraction process of a functional plant protein.  Experiments were conducted at pilot scale and at small demo scale, TRL 4-5, that gave information that will help to build the business case in an early phase. The ready availability of equipment and process lines at different scale within the GPEC environment enabled a quick turnaround of the project.
